Effective July 25, 2022, Clayton County Schools will require a face mask mandate for all employees and visitors. This mandate is a direct result of the spread of COVID-19 in Clayton County. As of today, Clayton County has a total of 670 new COVID-19 cases with eight hospitalizations.
鈥淎s positive COVID-19 cases continue to rise throughout the state and nation, we must take necessary steps to ensure employees and students are afforded a safe learning and work environment,鈥 said Dr. Morcease J. Beasley, Superintendent/CEO of Schools. 鈥淭his is a necessary step to protect all that enter our schools and facilities.鈥
In the last legislative session, the 鈥淯nmask Georgia Students Law (Senate Bill 514) passed that prohibits boards of education, school superintendents, and state charter schools from imposing mask mandates. However, parents can opt to have their students wear a mask at school.
