As the 2021-22 school year quickly approaches, school supplies are in high demand. But for some families, re-purchasing supplies each year is a financial struggle.
seeks to alleviate the struggle with the 10th annual backpack giveaway, which will be held July 24 from 9 a.m. to to 12 p.m. at , according to a Monday from the Board of Education. The giveaway event will be held in a drive-thru format and will include community resources, Kona Ice, lunch packs and barbecue plates available for charitable purchase.
According to the post, the event is in partnership with , the first African-American intercollegiate Greek lettered fraternity.
Children who receive backpacks must be present and proof of Henry County residency is required, the post states.
