Methany Thornton, a Social Emotional Learning teacher at Marietta Middle School lived 35 minutes away from her job with her disabled husband, child, and two grandchildren. On Saturday, Thornton鈥檚 home was dedicated to school and city officials there.

According to , the average cost of a home in Marietta, Georgia was $452,615 an increase of 2.5% in the last year.
The program which is being funded through the American Rescue Plan Act would provide zero-interest affordable homes for City of Marietta and Marietta City School employees. Named, the 鈥淢arietta Public Service Housing Program, the City of Marietta donated six lots and Habitat for Humanity of NW Metro 麻豆影院 (HNWMA) provided volunteers to build the six one and two-story homes.
According to a press release from when the program was announced, Jill Gill, CEO of HNWMA commended the initiative.
